This page is for administrators who have learners who completed initial assessments outside WEST.

Prior to mandating the use of the Wales Essential Skills Toolkit, the Welsh Government agreed there would be a transition period in which learners could have their Essential Skills assessed using 'legacy' tools.

Providers can enter those 'external' assessment results manually into WEST, enabling the generation of a learning plan for all learners regardless of which initial assessment they actually took. Consequently, 'distance travelled' evidence can be collated in WEST for all your learners.

To enter external assessment results:

• for an individual learner, select Enter external initial assessment results on their 'Courses list' page

• for multiple learners, select Import (on the 'Learners' list) and then Import external results.
